Truth Maxim Egress Window Hinge 14.12

Truth Maxim Egress Window Hinge 14.12

Product Review (submitted on October 25, 2017):
I ordered this part on Friday and it was here on Tuesday for my Truth egress window which was installed 10 years or more ago. The replacement hinges fit perfectly using the same screw holes. I had to detach and reattach the crank out bar. But after that it was just a matter of unscrewing the old and attaching the new hinges both top and bottom. I attached them to the window first, then, set the window in place and screwed down the bar that goes in the window frame. Everything fit perfectly.
Here is something I learned and which I believe caused the original bottom hinge to fail. The last screw closest to the side that holds down the bar that attaches to the window frame protruded slightly, just enough to interfere with the slider as it slide over the screw. This made you crank harder and eventually the plastic around the slider broke and the bottom of the window came out of track when the window was opened. So, I just omitted that innermost screw and attached the new bottom bar with the 3 other screw holes that are available. The hinge then worked perfectly. So happy this all worked because I was thinking if it didn't, I was probably in for a new window. They are expensive, so freight and everything cost me about $50. Very pleased.
